Yes, a Creative Commons Salon... maybe this is something we can think about doing after PhotoCamp, or maybe as part of Web414... I think that might work.

Pete-

You had the idea a couple years ago of doing a (cc) event. I think it was called Creative Commons Salon. I would love to find out more about the proper use of the license.

My lady reminded me of prior commitments and on top of that we were hosting representatives from the saturdayhouse. They were on a fact finding mission and some amazing ideas were shared and Bucketworks Seattle may be a little bit closer.

I found out Friday we could have taken classroom space where the catering rule didn't apply. I always thought the UW rules were weird in comparison to my seven-year undergrad, employee and graduate school experience at UNC-Chapel Hill where I never had to deal with any silly catering rule. I see the draw to "conference space" but working with things like Really, Really Free Markets and such has gotten me used to working in non-corporate environment. So, a lesson learned for next time, but we lose our student sponsor in Chris Lay and UW Students for Free Culture.

The other frustrating thing is not being able to go into the evening. It's very unfortunate XB is gone, because I know BarCampMadison3 is suffering from the same lack of space. I'm going to try to help out with this issue now that OE is over for a while...except perhaps monthly meetings. Which speaking of that...I should get on my writeup on the OE Mad list.

In Chapel Hill, you can't even pay for parking. It is literally non-existent (often). I find Madison incredibly easy in which to park. Streets are wide for the most part. There are decks. Etc. Being rather flat really helps the situation. Something very clearly not the case in Chapel Hill.
