Alright. So we're sittin' around the house, kickin' it with Emma, and the doorbell rings, whcih in itself is a rare thing here. So I cautiously go down the steps towards the door, hoping it's not someone ignoring the 'NO SOLICITING' sign. I open it ever so slowly, and there's a woman with a white shirt on. She explains that she's from Omaha's Choice (or some such organization) and that they are delivering steaks in the area, have some extra, and are wondering if we'd like to purchase some. Now while I commend anyone who tries to sell meat door to door, alas, our household is almost completely vegetarian. The female and Emma are totally vegetarian, I'm about 95%, not to mention we never have meat in our house (real meat that is, Havest Burger Crumbles don't count) and I never liked steak when I did eat meat.
So I decline the offer explaining the situation. She apologizes for bothering us. No prob.
So then like a day or two later I'm washing dishes and the doorbell rings again (believe me, this is a lot of action for our doorbell) so I again meander down the steps to see who it might be. Steak lady. Same one. She explains again the situation. I say 'Weren't you here the other day' and she really isn't sure if she was, so I start to think it's a setup. But anyway, I explain again that it's a vegetarian household. I didn't mention the fact that buying meat from someone who rings you door don't seem quite right, even if they do have a shirt with an embroidered logo. So she leaves, apologizing again. I then head upstairs and look out the window to see where she goes. I was hoping to see a van or truck outside. But I didn't. I think she just wanders door to door tring to sell imaginary steaks.
Don't buy em!
