12 Robots Falling

12 Robots Falling

(consider it cc:by)

No one knew what they were thinking, or more appropriately, what they were calculating. A dozen robots fell from the sky. They couldn’t fly. They had no jet-packs, or hover mechanism, or anti-gravity generators. It was like some robot lemmings game gone terribly wrong. Luckily, no humans were harmed, but the Robot Investigation Unit has still not discovered the motives behind this strange occurrence. Still, the question remains… who programmed these robots to do what they did?

Cookie-Eating Robot

Cookie-Eating Robot

Today’s Lunch Bag Art is a robot that eats cookies. Why would a robot ever eat cookies? Well, cookies are delicious delicacies. (Or at least they used to be.)

RunBot does just one thing. He runs. I mean, he does have clamping hands, but those are just to tie his running shoes. Which he never wears. Because he is a robot. You can tell he runs fast because of the wind rushing behind him. Run RunBot Run!

This one goes out to all the RunBots at Daily Mile, and those crazy kids at Fit Milwaukee like @bananza and @tmgessner and @amykant.

Aw yeah, this robot is Mr. Cool. I mean, he’s got a cool hat and cool sunglasses. In fact, he’s so cool, he wears his sunglasses at night. (Actually, he wears them all the time as they are part of his Vision System and he cannot function without them.) You know, I think this robot may have been inspired by LL Cool J, which seems weird, but I call ’em like I see ’em.

AI Battle Bots

Battle Bots!

Years ago I worked with this crazy software developer who was always talking about these AI Bots he wanted to write that would battle each other with logic. Basically, the idea was (as I understood it) he would program one bot to have an opinion on something, and another bot to have a differing opinion, and then have them converse with each other to see who would win the argument. Of course in his early tests no one ever won the argument, as AI Bots are very good an arguing and one would never be defeated by the other.

Nowadays you don’t need to write any IA Bots to accomplish this… All you need is:

  • A Facebook account
  • Friends with strong opinions who like to argue

Now just post something on your wall, and hope that your friends see it, and start to argue with each other. You may need to make it controversial, but even this is not a requirement.

Once it’s posted, just wait for the replies… Hours of entertainment!
