Poor US Cellular

Sigh, poor US Cellular. I had to stop by their store yesterday to handle a billing issue (whereby they had credited an old account, but didn’t really make that clear except by putting CR next to the amount it said I owed) and while Britt was quite helpful in the matter, when she was done she asked if she could do anything else for me. I asked if US Cellular used GSM phones at all. She said no, though it seemed as though she really felt bad about it. I said I was looking to get a Series 60 phone, possibly something like a Nokia 7610… Then is seemed like she was just bummed out that she had nothing to offer me, knowing that US Cellular only deals in CDMA phones, which I’m not interested in. As I left, Britt said something along the lines of “Ok, well, if you ever need a CDMA phone, keep us in mind.” Sure, Britt, will do…

Big Legs

I just had to share this one!

Little girl, big legs

I’ve been working with the Flickr API to build collage-type images out of the square thumbnails when the two images in the center lined up and gave a little girl some very big legs. No, I didn’t plan it or fake it, I did however probably load 20 or 30 of the collages before I saw anything like this. Neat!

Remembering wozzle

I had forgotten about wozzle! (Again…)

This was a little bit of code magic I whipped up back in 1997 or so which does some wacky visual stuff.

Being the complete dork that I am, if you looked back just over 5 years ago, you’d find a post just like this one mentioning how I forgot about wozzle.

Anyway, coming soon (I hope) is wozzle 3.0, or should I say wozzl 3.0? ;)

Water & Ice

Speaking of Wisconsin, while driving home the other day I managed to see some guys out in a boat in the river fishing, and some guys standing out on a frozen lake ice fishing. Where else can you choose if you want to go regular fishing or ice fishing, and it’s just a matter of which body of water you pick?

In related news, the Oconomowoc River is flowing quite nicely, and I’d guess that by April I’ll have the canoe out for a riverquest adventure. (Let me know if you want to come along. Oh, and bring a camera!)

iPodder Lemon 2.0

Just a quick note, iPodder (Lemon) 2.0 has been released… And yes, it really is the “the cross-platform (open-source) podcast receiver” that they say it is.

Congrats to the team for getting this release out the door, and thanks to all the people who kept on their case, tested it, filed bugs, and made feature requests.

Oh, if you love it, please donate those guys some of your hard earned money, they’ve been working on this for what seems to be forever. Thanks!
