October 1998

10.30.1998

The Upright Citizens Brigade is the most hilarious-freakin' show on the air right now... and their site rules too! Don't forget to check out their keywords... Minor Threat!!!

Whew... I weeded out some old links today, well, the ones that point to my own pages anyway. I've got mixed feelings about the others... for instance on 09.19.97 I had a link to Space Goofs, a really cool cartoon on the Fox Network. Now *they* did something with the page that was there, not me. Maybe they cancelled the show, and the page too... or maybe it moved, got deleted, etc... I don't know. But the point is, am I responsible? I guess in a way I am... (or am I?) These links represent a moment in time! I can't very well change time itself can I!?

I think what I might do is this, take all dead links, and point them to a page on RasterWeb stating that it's a dead link... sort of a local 404 error, as it were...

I'm going trick-r-treatin' 3 times this weekend, ahhh, having children is wonderful...

10.29.1998

I've started playing with Google today... I like it!

The move has been going as well as can be expected... still have 'clean up the old place' and 'fix broken things at the new place' on my to do list...

10.28.1998

alright then... you should find this site at http://www.rasterweb.net/raster/ (or rasterweb.net/raster may work in your browser...)

See the new 1998 model Pumpkins!

Did I mention my Formal Declarations of War?

They will suffer...

Remember the Crusties?

UCB

We will be moving very soon. We struck a deal with Zymm Desygn, and RasterWeb! will become part of the Zymm.com family... we're excited!

"Perhaps one of the greatest crimes ever perpetrated in the state of Wisconsin, is the Crusties not releasing an album..."

10.17.1998

Cleveland Bound Death Sentence??? Mr Elliot needs a firm butt-whacking with a 2 by 4!!! Any Milwaukeeans who agree, should email me... Gee, anyone want to see my new band, it's called 'Crimpshrine!' duh...

Mizer was questionable to me, now there's VSE HTML Turbo, ugh! their page doesn't even contain closing body or html tags! So either their tool was used, and screwed up their page, or they don't know how to properly author html in the first place... which is worse!?
ok, well looks like Mizer's page doesn't include the closing html tag either...

Mizer is made by antimonysoftware, not antimoneysoftware...

They're both about 70 bucks...

So here's my take... if you know what you're doing, and write your html properly in the first place, you won't have as much of a need for these tools... and if you want a tool like this, some creative perl script and regular expressions could do the job... I'm sure someone (hey maybe me!) could create an open source tool like this in a day...

Emma now has her own Mac! It's a IIvx, 20 mb RAM, 230 mb HD, and 14" monitor... it's named PlayThing. She usually just runs BabyTime, or tools around in the finder... start 'em young!

10.15.1998

Saw a straight-edger on the freeway yesterday... kinda warmed my heart... until it looked like it might be a hard-edger... I think it was a MIAD student, too...

Been listening to Uncle Smooth and the Lost Mayans lately...

so www.mallman.com is all I got...

10.13.1998

I guess there's another Apple Event tomorrow... hey, I have apple events on my Mac *everyday!*

ooooh... 8.5 looks really cool... *really cool!!!* I wanna start making themes!

Of course a good debugger never hurt anyone...

Zymm got an iMac!

Saw a commercial for 'A Bug's Life' last night, gee, it looks much cooler than that 'other' bug movie...

El Capitan?

New Fugazi... quite good good good, recommended by me...
and I'm still not thin on the pill faker...

Anyone wanna buy two 32 mb simms for a PowerMac 61/71/8100?
(or a 6100 with a bad scsi controller?)

We've been quite busy working on a new site, it's at... well, we'll wait a few more days for the url...

COLD WEATHER BUILDS CHARACTER

Well, I stated wearing pants on a semi-regular basis... can't wait til April!

10.01.1998

Oh, so much... going on... whoops, gotta roll the month over too... later...

I wuz in NYC a few dayz a-go - that was interesting, ain't been there in 5 yrs. Went on a Lear Jet too... Had a good lunch, got some Yoo-Hoo (which, ya caint git hear!) etc etc etc...

Got a copy of LinuxPPC, but I think I'll *try* to wait until BootX is out til I attempt to load it...

I also got more RAM a while back, and a hard drive to replace the 1 gig IDE I have, which I'm hoping to resurrect as a backup drive, ya know, so I can do real-honest-to-goodness backups...

I'm SICK of being lied to... by the I43 construction crew... LIES LIES LIES!!! (thx Demise!)

It's rOctober and the shortz are still in ful efekt!

and we now have a 2-car garage (as opposed to 1-car and a lotta junk...)

One of our friends was in the hospital for unexplained reasons, we had a death in the family (that phrase always makes me think of the Dark Knight) and possible contact with Scarlet Fever... argh!

I'm a little miffed at HotBot (for more than one reason!) but I'm liking Mac OS 8.5 mucho... I think I'll refer to them as SnotBot for a few weeks...
