About

Updated in Summer 2007

I consider myself a hacker of many things... What does that mean? I've built telescopes, robots, electronic devices, speaker cabinets, furniture, I've printed zines, shirts, sticker, patches, recorded music, baked various items, wrote BASIC, created LORES and HIRES graphics... and other stuff I can't remember...

As far as this internet stuff, I helped start the thing we now know as blogs/weblogs back in 1997... and then podcasting in 2004, and now I'm even videoblogging...

I've been involved in personal publishing since the mid-1980's and don't plan on stopping any time soon.

I'm a technology nerd, always looking for new things, it's not so much that I'm trying to stay "ahead of the curve" as it is I'm fascinated by new ideas. At least until they are no longer new and challenging to existing conventions. Occasionally I tired of them at that point... Disruptive Technology? You bet...

I like to organize things like BarCamps and build communities like Web414.

I like Mac OS X, Linux, and even FreeBSD, but not Windows or Microsoft.

I live in Wisconsin... I like it here. The winter's are freezing cold and unbearable (but there's snowboarding) and the summer's are boiling hot and unbearable (but there's swimming.) I am married to a wonderful woman, and I have two kids.

If you think you once knew me, or met me, or do know me, or have a question or comment, or whatever, contact me. (Yes, I'm available for parties, weddings, etc. at an extremely reasonable fee.)

That's it for now...

Elsewhere...

I have a hand in these, even if I may sometimes deny it...

I've been known to use a few web sites, or a few web sites have been known to use me. See a long list at: http://claimid.com/raster
