Important Message from RasterWeb. Show it to anyone you like. Here is the message: Microsoft makes crappy software.
Users that are clueless are dangerous users. Use a Mac. I'm outta here!
Whew! that was exciting, wasn't it!?
The FBI
has launched a widespread search for Melissa's creator, whom officials said could face as
many as 10 years in jail and $350,000 in fines. - ok, so shouldn't Microsoft also be penalized?
Isn't this all really their fault?
More proof that unix kicks the booty of windoze I guess...
I am floored, I love Space Ghost!
And Zorak!
And Brak!
And even Metallus!
These are the kinds of pages we need more of on the web...
We recently got our first appliance with a url printed right on it... it points to http://www.maytag.com/ and I do find
the name amusing, being a Mac IIvx owner, that is...
I'm hoping the yoda related web site I've worked on comes online soon ;]
I dunno about this one...

sicks, sicks, sicks... yeah, after denying my body the reality of being sick, I got hit hard, after it had touched my whole family
for about a week, it hit me like a semi full of cinder blocks... about 4 days of being iller than anyone should be ill, I can finally stand up without
getting a headache or getting dizzy, that's always nice...
[I was also sick on these pages: Jan 1999 and Feb 1998... ugh!]
To get an idea how sick I was, they showed the Phantom Menace trailer and I was too out of it too turn my head and look at the TV... I did
however get to watch all sorts of crappy shows on Saturday while I writhed in pain... VIP, Acapulco Heat, Farscape (which seemed to have
a commercial every 3.7 minutes!) and Sliders...
Today I looked for MP3's I might like and was sorely disappointed... nonetheless, I do need to finish
reading up on creating my own MP3 files, since creating RealAudio files is soooo much fun...
Do you ever look at your keyboard and think 'geez, is that thing grimey' but you find yourself reluctant to clean it since it your grime,
and as a side benefit, might prevent other people from using your machine?

The hardcore open source advocates are slamming Apple a bit on their Public
Source License. (They seem slam *anything* that isn't GPL though) I do want to see Apple move towards openness, and I do think GPL would
be great, but again, Apple as a commercial entity has it's own priorities. I believe that they won't try to screw the open source movement, that
could be quite a mess indeed. I'm excited about Mac OS X Server and consumer release. I'd love to have Apple hardware running Apache, BSD is cool,
Darwin could be really cool. Geez, what has MS done that's in any way related to open source? [besides threaten it?]
What I'd really love to see is Apple commit resources to MacPerl! Check out
macperl.org and macperl.com for more info. Apple has used MacPerl
for it's Carbon Dater app, and now employees the fellow who ported Perl to the Mac!
Whether Apple sees developer support for it's 'open source' projects remains to be seen. Are all the bright people working on Linux? I don't think so... Maybe the *BSD
community will be of some help, now's one of those times I really wish I knew more than interpreted languages...
Take a look at Mac OS X Server!
I still get that 'NeXT' feeling in some places... which ain't necessarily bad!
Wow, that's one small computer, now if it only ran Perl instead of Java ;)
I've started to read up on XML, I think I've got a *lot* of reading to do...

Wooo, I saw this ad for Microsoft... It was pushing NT Workstation, and in the copy it said (as I remember) 'Workstation runs
30% faster than Windows 98' - I think this translates to 'Remember that PC you bought? Well, you paid for Windows 98, but if you want
a system that's 30% faster, send us a check and we'll sell you another operating system for mucho-moola, oh, sorry, no rebates...'
Yes, I really dislike Microsoft...
The iCab browser is soooo coooool! iCab - Das Internet-Taxi für den Mac!
I was lucky enough to be home on Friday and caught the Phantom Menace Trailer 2 on the tube... WOW! I can't help but
thing this will be the Greatest Movie Since Star Wars! I will make Titanic look like a cute little story about a boat that made a
few pennies... It opens about a month before my birthday, and I plan on getting nothing but Star Wars toys, so if you got something
else, take it back ;)
I'm seriously contemplating the digital camera/ink jet printer combination to squash the cost of film and processing from our standard
35mm camera...
These servers are nice...
especially the Qube,
but I wonder how much it would cost to get a *nix guru to set up a 486 or Pentium with Linux/*BSD and Apache, Perl, Sendmail, etc... of course there's the
other included software, support, etc. etc. etc.... I still want a Qube though!

Harry Birthday Mr. Gatewood...
Did you ever break a site? Today I was looking at www.designshops.com and
it stopped working! I got this 500 error 'couldn't spawn child process: /title/ds/index.cgi' ooops...
These two lines from Fugazi seemed very appropriate lately...
I can't keep this pace, if I want to finish this race...
everything is not alright...
Dictionary.com is useful...
So are man pages, like when you *really* need to know the format for
sprintf...
Want a good web-related read? There's even more!

Ok, it's March...
I'm still pretty far behind on this site, but that's because I've been coding like mad, and when I'm done, you'll
(hopefully) be able to use all that silly code yourself. We've got about 4 different
sites under way right now, at various stages and it sure would be nice to finish one!
For now you'll just have to look at: Morris Pratt Institute
