Oh, I may have successfully installed Yellow Dog Linux on the 8500, I’ll find out tonight…

Since Doc and well, everyone else is doing it, I thought I should disclose my position. I used to work for a large corporation named [DELETED] doing all sort of work in the field of [DELETED], but now I work at a smaller company named [DELETED], and do mainly [DELETED] work, which I sometimes enjoy [DELETED] [DELETED] [DELETED]. I do not speak for the company I work for, honestly I don’t think they even know I exist sometimes. I’ve never been paid to write anything that appears here, but if the right amount of money was waved in my face, you can bet I’d give it some serious consideration. We’re talking retirement amounts of money, or at least quit working for the man^H^H^H company and start my own business bucks… I really would like to love doing the work I do, but it hasn’t happened yet. I think people who do truly love doing the work they do are the luckiest people around. I like some of the work I do, and, well, that’s it for today kids… [DELETED] [DELETED] [DELETED]…

Yesterday when Emma asked me why Hello Kitty has no mouth, I said “Because in traditional Japanese culture women are not allowed to speak.” At least that’s the reason I thought was correct. Later that night while cleaning a Hello Kitty mug, the handle broke and sliced my finger quite badly. Lots of blood, band-aids, and pain. Damn you Hello Kitty! I should have consulted Hello Kitty Has No Mouth, and the FAQ there…

In order for advertising to work, it’s supposed to be somewhat, at least remotely, believable. So when Microsoft claimed that someone actually switched from using a Mac to using Windows, we knew something wasn’t quite right! Actually I do know people who switched from using a Mac to using Windows, but… It’s always been under the circumstances of a job. See, I had to switch from wearing shorts to wearing pants, not because I chose to, but because the people who pay me demanded it of me. I’m also forced to use Windows at my job, but as I’ve mentioned before, that does not make me a Windows user, by my definition anyway… Before being hired I demanded that I have a Mac to use… Some people aren’t that fortunate, and can’t demand their computing platform when selecting a job. Honestly though, I’m sure there are people who switched from using the Mac OS (pre OS X) to using Windows, and were probably happy doing it. Now, could we find someone who switched from using Mac OS X to using Windows XP? I dunno… The search is on!
