Remembering wozzle

I had forgotten about wozzle! (Again…)

This was a little bit of code magic I whipped up back in 1997 or so which does some wacky visual stuff.

Being the complete dork that I am, if you looked back just over 5 years ago, you’d find a post just like this one mentioning how I forgot about wozzle.

Anyway, coming soon (I hope) is wozzle 3.0, or should I say wozzl 3.0? ;)

Water & Ice

Speaking of Wisconsin, while driving home the other day I managed to see some guys out in a boat in the river fishing, and some guys standing out on a frozen lake ice fishing. Where else can you choose if you want to go regular fishing or ice fishing, and it’s just a matter of which body of water you pick?

In related news, the Oconomowoc River is flowing quite nicely, and I’d guess that by April I’ll have the canoe out for a riverquest adventure. (Let me know if you want to come along. Oh, and bring a camera!)

iPodder Lemon 2.0

Just a quick note, iPodder (Lemon) 2.0 has been released… And yes, it really is the “the cross-platform (open-source) podcast receiver” that they say it is.

Congrats to the team for getting this release out the door, and thanks to all the people who kept on their case, tested it, filed bugs, and made feature requests.

Oh, if you love it, please donate those guys some of your hard earned money, they’ve been working on this for what seems to be forever. Thanks!

Milwaukee’s Beatallica?

I’ve been a fan of Beatallica for a long time (Ok, since approximately last year or so) and who hasn’t enjoyed their music? Very few people, that’s who!

I know they’ve had some legal problems lately, but according to a Boing Boing post, they’re from Milwaukee.

Milwaukee and Beatallica… I had no idea.

And what’s this? Mention of live shows in 2005!? I am so freakin’ there!

(Update: Here’s a post mentioning some upcoming shows.)

(Update: While Beatallica’s site is off the air, you can try to get their stuff courtesy of matthowie.)

Introducing the RGLN

The RGLN, or “Race/Gender Linking Network” is a way to annotate links so that you (and your software) can easily tell if a link is going to a white male, or black female, or whatever race/gender you may be. These things are important you know!

Where you would once type:

<a href="http://somewhiteguy.com/">White Male</a>

You will now use:

<a href="http://somewhiteguy.com/" rel="white male">White Guy Blogger</a>

And of course:

<a href=”http://someblackwoman.com/" rel="black female">Black Woman Blogger</a>

I hope that’s clear. In the coming months we will release software to allow you to easily block the opinions of the groups you wish to ignore. We’re also working on a toolbar to alter the content coming from the people of whatever race/gender you disagree with. That should make everyone quite happy, or amused, or annoyed. I’m not sure which.

(Disclaimer: I am white, and I am male, but I didn’t really choose either of those things, it just sort of happened…)
