Submitted for your approval… My design concept for the BarCampMilwaukee5 t-shirt. The title is “EXPLORE!” and it’s got an astronaut driving a land rover on the Earth’s Moon.
This is just my design, and technically, you still have until Monday, September 13, 2010 to submit one. After that, It’s all up to whil. (And his team of t-shirt art-choosers.)
Web608 is Madison’s Web Community, and was inspired by Web414, which is Milwaukee’s Web Community. Abraham Williams was one of the founders of Web608, but moved away from Madison, so Andrew Shell led this session on rebooting the group and deciding how to run things in the future.
Here is the audio from the session. It took place in the big room at BarCampMadison, where it was very echoey and the AC noise was loud. Still, I cleaned it up a bit and it should be listenable.

Here’s a video from BarCampMadison, which took place August 28, 2010 in Madison, Wisconsin. The session was titled “Building Strong Communities for Hacker/Maker Spaces” and was presented by Bob Waldron.
Just a note on this video, the production is a bit poor, but I felt it was still worth sharing. I set up the camera, hit record, and ran in and out between sessions. I did the best I could to clean up the audio, but didn’t really edit the image quality at all.

The idea of KidsCamp is to have kid-friendly activities within a BarCamp event. Since BarCamps are often on the weekend, some of the people who attend have children, and may prefer not to abandon them in favor of BarCamp, so are seeking ways to get them involved. There’s also the idea of getting kids interested in technology, and how we could foster such a thing.
At BarCampMadison3, Scott Fradkin led a discussion about this topic. I sat in on it, as did Bob Waldron (and at least one other person, though I didn’t get his name.) We talked over the idea, and Scott got “elected” to explore it more and try to do something for the upcoming BarCampMilwaukee5.
Here is the audio from the session. (There’s a part in the middle of this audio file where the fire alarm went off. We had to leave the building for 10 minutes during that time. I cut that out because it was most unpleasant. If the topic seems to veer in one direction quickly, that is probably why.)
